A driveway is a structural slab, not a sidewalk you park on

The difference between a driveway that lasts 30 years and one that’s spalling in five comes down to three things: thickness, reinforcement, and what’s underneath. A 4-inch pour on undisturbed, compacted stone handles cars. An SUV, a work truck, or a dumpster in the spring needs 5 to 6 inches and rebar.

We size the slab to what actually parks on it, compact the base properly, and pitch the surface so meltwater runs to the street instead of into your garage or against the foundation.

What we install

Standard residential concrete

4" reinforced slab on compacted stone, broom finished, with jointing laid out to match the drive's shape. The default for cars and small SUVs.

Heavy-duty reinforced

5–6" with rebar mat for trucks, RVs, trailers, or a driveway that doubles as a work area. Worth it if anything heavy sits on it regularly.

Paver driveway

Interlocking pavers rated for vehicle loads. Highest curb appeal, fully repairable, and no cracks to look at for the next 20 years.

Aprons, curb cuts & repair

The strip between your drive and the street, curb-cut work that needs a city permit, and targeted repair when the rest of the slab is still sound.

Time to replace rather than patch

Not sure which of these you’re dealing with? Send a photo with your details and we’ll tell you before we ever come out.

What driveways cost with us

We build to a spec that lasts thirty years, not five, and we price accordingly. Ranges are installed, including excavation and base. Your quote is a fixed number once we’ve measured and checked what’s under the existing surface.

What moves the number

No hourly billing. Every quote we write is a fixed price for a defined scope. If we find something genuinely unexpected once we open up the ground, we stop and talk to you before anything changes.

How the job actually runs

Four stages, and you know what’s happening at each one.

Step 1

Call or send details

Tell us roughly what you want and where you are. We ask a few questions and book a visit, normally within 2 to 3 business days.

Step 2

On-site measure and quote

We measure, check the drainage, the access and what's under the existing surface, then send a fixed written price — usually within 48 hours.

Step 3

Schedule, permits and prep

You get a start date in writing. We pull any permits, call PA One Call 811 for utility markouts, and protect the areas we're working around.

Step 4

Build, clean up and walk through

We build it, haul everything away, and walk the finished job with you. You get your written warranty and care instructions before we leave.

Work we've finished

Real jobs, our crews, this region.

Why we're not the cheapest quote you'll get

And exactly where the difference goes.

The base, not just the surface

Excavated to subgrade and compacted in lifts. It's the slowest part of the job, the part nobody sees, and the only reason the finished work stays flat.

Our own crews, start to finish

No subcontracted chain and no rotating faces. The people who quote your job are the people who build it.

A fixed price and a written warranty

One number for a defined scope, agreed before anyone breaks ground, backed by terms you get on paper with the invoice.

Materials chosen to last, not to win a bid

Rated pavers, correct reinforcement, real drainage stone and proper sealers. Specifying down is how a cheaper quote gets to be cheaper.

Written warranty on every job

You get it on paper with the invoice, not as a promise someone made in a driveway.

Questions we get asked

If yours isn’t here, call and ask. We’d rather answer it now than have you find out mid-project.

How soon can I drive on a new concrete driveway?

Walk on it after about 24 hours. Park a normal car on it after 7 days. Keep heavy trucks and dumpsters off until 28 days, which is when concrete reaches its rated strength. We leave you written aftercare so nobody guesses.

Four inches is the residential standard for cars. Go to five or six inches with a rebar mat if you park a truck, an RV, a trailer, or if delivery vehicles use the drive. The extra concrete is a small part of the total price and it’s the single cheapest way to add decades of life.

Work that stays entirely on your own property generally doesn’t require one in Philadelphia. If the job touches the sidewalk, the apron, or involves cutting a new curb, it does — and there are fees. We confirm before quoting and handle the paperwork.

Yes, and it matters more here than in warmer states. A penetrating sealer applied after the first full cure, then re-applied every 2 to 3 years, is what keeps de-icing salt from chewing up the surface. Also: don’t use rock salt on concrete in its first winter.

Often, yes. Isolated cracks, a settled apron, or a single failed section can be cut out and replaced for far less than a full tear-out. If more than roughly a third of the slab is compromised, or the base underneath has washed out, replacement is the cheaper decision over ten years. We’ll show you what we’re looking at rather than just telling you.

A typical residential driveway is 2 to 4 working days of on-site work — demo, base, forms, pour, finish. Then the cure window. We’ll give you exact dates and the day you get your cars back, in writing, before we start.
