Stamped concrete is a finishing craft — the pour is the easy part
Stamping is done in a window of maybe forty minutes, while the slab is firm enough to hold an impression but soft enough to take one. Miss that window and you get shallow, muddy texture or stamps that stick and tear. There is no going back and no patching it later, which is why stamped work separates crews so quickly.
We use integral colour through the full depth rather than a surface shake, so a chip doesn’t expose grey underneath. Release agent goes on for the secondary tone, joints are cut where the slab wants to move, and the whole thing gets sealed once it’s cured. You see a sample board in your own daylight before we pour anything.
Where it works
Patios & pool decks
Large unbroken surfaces where pavers would give you a hundred joints to weed. Textured finishes stay grippy around water.
Driveways & aprons
Stamped borders and banding on a reinforced slab. Far more curb appeal than plain grey for a modest addition to the cost.
Overlays & resurfacing
A stamped overlay bonded to a structurally sound existing slab. Transforms the look without the cost of a tear-out.
Borders, bands & custom work
Saw-cut patterns, contrasting borders, inlaid medallions and hand-carved stone replication for high-end installations.
Stamped concrete that's ready for attention
- Colour has gone flat or chalky, and the pattern has lost its depth
- Sealer is peeling, clouding, or flaking off in sheets
- The surface has become slippery underfoot when wet
- Cracks running across the pattern rather than along the cut joints
- The pattern is dated and no longer suits the house
Not sure which of these you’re dealing with? Send a photo with your details and we’ll tell you before we ever come out.
What stamped concrete costs with us
Installed and sealed, including base prep. Stamped work is priced on the finish, not just the square footage — the number of colours, the pattern, and the borders move it more than the size does.
Single colour, standard pattern
Integral colour, release, sealed
$18 – $28 / sq ft
Multi-colour with border & banding
Contrasting border, saw-cut detail
$26 – $40 / sq ft
Hand-carved stone replication
Custom tooling, individually worked
$38 – $60+ / sq ft
Stamped overlay on a sound slab
No tear-out; slab must be structurally intact
$12 – $22 / sq ft
Full stamped outdoor living package
Patio, pool surround, walks, steps, lighting
$45,000 – $150,000+
Resealing, every 2–3 years
What keeps the colour from going flat
$2 – $4 / sq ft
What moves the number
- Number of colours and whether the pattern needs custom tooling
- Borders, banding and saw-cut detail, all of which are hand work
- Site access — stamping is time-critical, so a hard-to-reach pour costs more
- Whether we're pouring new or overlaying an existing slab
- Steps, radius edges and pool coping, which are stamped by hand
No hourly billing. Every quote we write is a fixed price for a defined scope. If we find something genuinely unexpected once we open up the ground, we stop and talk to you before anything changes.
How the job actually runs
Four stages, and you know what’s happening at each one.
Step 1
Call or send details
Tell us roughly what you want and where you are. We ask a few questions and book a visit, normally within 2 to 3 business days.
Step 2
On-site measure and quote
We measure, check the drainage, the access and what's under the existing surface, then send a fixed written price — usually within 48 hours.
Step 3
Schedule, permits and prep
You get a start date in writing. We pull any permits, call PA One Call 811 for utility markouts, and protect the areas we're working around.
Step 4
Build, clean up and walk through
We build it, haul everything away, and walk the finished job with you. You get your written warranty and care instructions before we leave.
Why we're not the cheapest quote you'll get
And exactly where the difference goes.
The base, not just the surface
Excavated to subgrade and compacted in lifts. It's the slowest part of the job, the part nobody sees, and the only reason the finished work stays flat.
Our own crews, start to finish
No subcontracted chain and no rotating faces. The people who quote your job are the people who build it.
A fixed price and a written warranty
One number for a defined scope, agreed before anyone breaks ground, backed by terms you get on paper with the invoice.
Materials chosen to last, not to win a bid
Rated pavers, correct reinforcement, real drainage stone and proper sealers. Specifying down is how a cheaper quote gets to be cheaper.
Written warranty on every job
You get it on paper with the invoice, not as a promise someone made in a driveway.

Questions we get asked
If yours isn’t here, call and ask. We’d rather answer it now than have you find out mid-project.
How long does stamped concrete last?
The concrete itself lasts as long as any properly built slab — decades. The finish is what needs maintenance: resealing every two to three years keeps the colour saturated and protects it from de-icing salt. Neglect the sealer through a few Philadelphia winters and the colour goes flat long before the slab has any structural problem.
Will the colour fade?
Integral colour runs through the full depth of the slab, so it can’t wear off the way a surface-applied colour can. What you’ll see over time is the sealer dulling, which reads as fading — and resealing brings it straight back. We don’t use colour hardener shakes as the primary colour for exactly this reason.
Is it slippery when wet?
It can be, if it’s sealed with a high-gloss product and nothing else. We add a clear grit additive to the sealer on pool decks, steps and any sloped surface, which restores traction without changing the appearance. Deeper textured patterns also hold grip better than smooth slate finishes — worth factoring into the pattern choice if the area gets wet.
Stamped concrete or pavers?
Stamped gives you an unbroken surface with no joints, so no weeds, no ants and nothing to shift — and it costs less than premium pavers at the same square footage. Pavers flex with the ground rather than cracking, and any single unit can be lifted and replaced. If the site is stable and you want a seamless look, stamped wins. On fill, on a slope, or where you want repairability in ten years, pavers do.
Can you stamp over my existing patio?
If the slab is structurally sound, level and draining correctly, yes — a bonded stamped overlay is roughly half the cost of a tear-out and repour. If it’s heaved, hollow underneath, or pitched toward the house, an overlay inherits every one of those problems and telegraphs the cracks through within a couple of seasons. We’ll tell you honestly which one you have.
Will it crack?
Every concrete slab moves, so the job is deciding where. We cut control joints at the correct spacing and hide them inside the pattern lines, so relief happens along a line that looks intentional rather than across the middle of the field. Cracking outside those joints within the warranty period is ours to put right.
